How to choose the best LED light source

No doubt that the quality of light source is very important during non-destructive testing and inspection. LED light sources are used in optical endoscopy: in borescopes and fiberscopes.
The SPARK LED Light Source is specially designed for growing demands in the NDT industry.
The light source has a new LED chip, which is combined with a focal lens to produce 15% more light intensity then the most powerful light sources in the class.
The body of SPARK LED light source is made of high-grade aluminum with anodized finish.

Due to the unique design, the heat that is produced by the LED element is evenly allocated on the surface.
The SPARK LED light source uses 3 standard AAA batteries, which can be easy replaced globally or in rechargeable form, Ni-MH, Li-ion or Alkaline.
The SPARK  LED light source is portable and easy-to-operate and is a must-to-have for routine remote visual inspections.

Useful Accessories for Light Source

Xtreme LED light source
Xtreme LED light sourceThe new SPARK Light Source has high intensity LED lights, which produces over 50,000 Lux  of illumination and an adjustable intensity control lever to vary the illumination for different inspection areas or reflective surfaces. These portable light sources work with flexible and rigid endoscopes, borescopes and some flexible fiberscopes. One of good features is availability of various accessories that make these light sources very convenient to work.

New Generation of Illuminators

Illuminator - Extremely bright and rugged LED light source
Illuminator is a extremely bright LED light source. During any kind of procedures or operation illumination is very important.
The more illumination - the easier control of tools and organs. Light is generated and transmitted to the endoscope by a special light cable or light guide that connects the illuminator and borescope. Such illuminators can be Halogen, Xenon, Metal Halide or LED. They all have their own pros and cons. Halogen, metal halide and xenon light sources have a high intensity, but the life span of their bulbs is generally very limited, some hundreds of hours. Spare bulbs are costly.
Today LED light sources are very popular. Due to achievements of LED technology, LED-based illuminator get more light intensity and now it equals or exceeds halogen or xenon illuminators.
A new LED illuminator represents the next generation of powerful light sources for the widest application. Now you can stop using fragile and sensitive halogen, xenon, or metal halide light sources. This unit is a very cost-effective solution with extremely long life expectancy (>60 000Hrs, longer than a 250W halogen, or 100W Xenon bulb), while at the same time the light output, at 650K Lux, easily replaces even the 250W halogen light sources.
Light intensity is controlled via a dimmer switch with an LCD display, which provides you with a quantified number for the illumination intensity.

Xtreme LED light source for all borescopes

Extremely Bright LED Light

Portable Spark LED Light Sources are a convenient, easy to use, substitute for bulky halogen or metal halide light sources. These Light Sources feature a high intensity 3W LED, which produces well over 50,000 Lux of illumination, and an adjustable intensity control lever, to vary the illumination for different inspection areas, or areas with reflective surfaces.

These portable Xtreme LED work with flexible and rigid endoscopes/ borescopes, and some flexible fiberscopes too. They produce a focused bright white light, not an unfocused yellow light like some halogen light sources. Power is provided by a rechargeable lithium ion battery, and at full power these units will run continuously for 45 minutes. Charging take 2 hours, but the LED should be good for over 1,000,000 hours of lamp life per bulb.

Additional features include an adapter nut to connect to the endoscopes/borescopes, and special adapters for some fiberscopes. The Xtreme LED is also rated IPX7 for protection against water, and cleaning solutions, allowing you to full submerge these light sources into water, or disinfecting solutions to clean them, or perform inspections. This also means these light sources are available for both industrial and medical use.
